Recently I read the words to a song I haven’t sung in church in decades. The words were familiar, but I didn’t remember the third verse. The song is entitled "Room at the Cross." The third verse reminds us God’s love is enduring. No matter what is happening in your life, God loves you and longs for you to return to Him.
Here are the words to the last verse of the song:
The hand of my Savior is strong
And the love of my Savior is long.
Through sunshine or rain, through loss or in gain,
The blood flows from Calv’ry to cleanse ev’ry stain.
The chorus says:
There’s room at the cross for you.
Tho’ millions have come,
There’s still room for one.
Yes, there’s room at the cross for you.
Never forget that Jesus loves you today. He wants to be at work in your life so that you are ready for heaven someday. You can’t get there on your own, or by your great works, but only by accepting the work of Jesus on the cross.
I can’t imagine living in this world and trying to be responsible for living by my own whims and wishes. Jesus loves, leads, and guides us in paths of righteousness we could never find on our own.
Remember, “The hand of my Savior is strong, and the love of my Savior is long . . .”
That’s the best news you will hear or read all day.
