Lisa Terry, who became a Liberty HealthShare member more than 10 years ago, is celebrating two special milestones: a birthday and a lifetime trip.
Her oldest daughter, Ava, recently graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in environmental science. To celebrate the achievement, Terry offered her a memorable gift.
"We both love to travel, so for her graduation present, I told her, 'I will pay for you to travel anywhere in the world that you'd like to go—but you have to take me.' So, we're going to Patagonia."
Terry's youngest daughter, Ellie, is an accomplished competition equestrian.
"She has loved horses since she was three. It seemed like she was born loving them," she said. "My daughters are so different, but I'm so proud of them both."
Terry joined Liberty HealthShare with her ex-husband when they were both self-employed and searching for affordable healthcare.
"We didn't have employer-sponsored health insurance so my husband, who's good at researching, found Liberty HealthShare."
After becoming a single mother, Terry remained a member of the Liberty HealthShare community for its multifaceted value.
“Having something that offers affordable healthcare for myself, and my daughters is important to me."
While she has faced medical challenges at various times, being part of a healthsharing ministry has reassured her through difficult times.
"Navigating medical issues can inherently be complicated and sometimes scary. Not having to battle with an insurance company over things makes such a difference."
The customer service she receives has been a key reason that Terry and her daughters continue to be a part of the Liberty HealthShare community.
When she recently needed an MRI, there was some confusion by the medical facility about the expense’s sharing eligibility. Terry called Liberty HealthShare and a representative helped her resolve the issue.

"He walked me through everything. That experience really stood out to me."
For Terry, Liberty HealthShare has been more than a typical healthcare provider.
“It's a community that genuinely cares."
