God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9 NLT
Our WalkMost of us want peace and prefer peace over conflict, noise, or agitation. Peace is a desired and a good thing to possess. What Jesus is teaching here is that we should simply reflect the love of our Heavenly Father with our lives and in our relationships. We should seek to speak peace and calmness into relationships and conflicts no matter where we find them. Conflicts at home, in our city, state or even nation, call for followers of Christ to be the leaders in working for peace. We should be engaged in eliminating strife and hate wherever we are able.
We should also note that because we work for peace does not mean that we will be exempt from trouble or even conflict. As Christ followers and believers in absolute truth there may be times where our convictions run counter to the culture we live in. Even in these times where we might face persecution we should work for peace and represent our Father wisely. What an honor to be called the children of God.

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. – Jesus (John 14:27 NLT)
