When it’s time to run the data and crunch the numbers, not just anyone can step up to the task. They need to be knowledgeable, cool under pressure, and able to adapt every time. Enter Mailor Yang, Liberty HealthShare’s Financial Analyst Manager. A finance professional with nearly two decades of experience, Yang works hard to ensure the ministry is operating in the best possible way for its members.

“What I do is never really the same from one day to the next. Sometimes I am batching medical bills and sending them to my other team members, and other times I am running reports on a variety of data sets for the use of the executive team,” said Yang. “These reports are then used to make business decisions like how to structure programs and costs.”

While some may balk at the request to provide information used in crucial meetings, information that guides the very future of Liberty HealthShare, Yang views her role as way she can step up to the plate for Liberty HealthShare members.

“It is a challenge in that I always want to do my very best when I am pulling data and running reports. It’s extremely rewarding to make sure everything is correct and to know that I helped guide the ministry in the proper direction,” explained Yang. “It takes time, but these are important decisions for the ministry. Sure, it can be a little nerve wracking at times, but I know I’m not a weather man who can be fifty-fifty!”

Raised in Syracuse, New York, Yang moved to Northeast Ohio with her husband after their marriage in 1997. A Business Management graduate of Walsh University in Canton, Ohio, Yang worked in finance in the healthcare sector before arriving at Liberty HealthShare in 2019. Over her years-long tenure at Liberty HealthShare, Yang has seen the ministry evolve and become more efficient and effective.

“Things are running smoothly, and I’m very proud to be a part of that. I enjoy the challenges that we face, and I enjoy even more when we solve them,” laughed Yang. “Learning from my colleagues and working each day to do our best has produced great results for our members.”

Yang and her husband have three adult children, ages 27, 25, and 21. As they approach their pearl anniversary they still enjoy traveling to new places and going on culinary adventures.

“We love to travel, and we always try to go to a new place and try out new foods. The kids are pretty much grown now, and they don’t really want to hang out with mom and dad, so we take advantage of our PTO,” said Yang. “I love the beach and my husband loves to hike, so we try to make it to places each of us like and we have a good time. We love trying out new foods and my husband’s favorite food is Pho, so we always stop in at Vietnamese spots to try them out. Usually his homemade stuff is the best, though! We are headed to San Francisco soon, so I’m excited about that!”

Everyone is gifted in a unique way, and Liberty HealthShare needs all kinds to serve our members. Thankfully, Yang is in our corner working to ensure that we’re not only on track, but always getting better!
